What is Ink Fingerprinting?
Ink Fingerprinting is the traditional method of taking a person’s fingerprints and using ink to apply them to an FD-258 fingerprinting card for the purpose of verifying their identity.
Fingerprinting when applying for a job
When applying for a job, you may be surprised to find yourself required to go through ink fingerprinting as part of the hiring process. Companies, especially those in industries related to Education, Healthcare, or Public Service use this type of background check during their hiring process.
While most employers will only require applicants to present either a birth certificate, Social Security number or driver’s license, some present other ways to verify your identity in order to proceed with hiring or onboarding. This check is done simply to verify the information you have given them already.
